The AEMC is to appoint a market customer representative and a distribution network service representative in the NEM as members to the Reliability Panel (Panel). This is because the terms of these current members expire on 31 December 2013. 

The AEMC has invited registered market customers and distribution network service providers to submit votes on a market customer representative and a distribution network service provider representative on the Panel, respectively.  

As required under the National Electricity Rules (NER), the AEMC may appoint members to the Panel where the support of at least one third of the relevant class of Registered Participants have been received; in this case, registered market participants customers and distribution network service providers.  In making the appointment, the AEMC will consider the skills and expertise of the candidates, amongst other criteria in the NER.

Emails have been sent to registered market customers and distribution network service providers outlining the process for submitting a vote.  Votes are to be received by 4 November 2013.
