The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) is calling for nominations for a representative to serve on the Australian Energy Market Operator's (AEMO) Settlements Residue Committee to represent end-use electricity customers.

Under the National Electricity Rules, AEMO is required to establish the Settlements Residue Committee, with the AEMC responsible for appointing a person to represent retail customers on this important governance body.

The Settlements Residue Committee oversees the auction process that manages financial risks in the electricity market, making it an important part of the market's governance framework.

The successful nominee will join representatives from AEMO (who chairs the committee), generators, market customers, transmission network service providers, traders, and participating jurisdictions.

Nominations, including the nominee's name, current position, and curriculum vitae, should be emailed to us by close of business on 24 April 2025.

The AEMC will seek feedback on nominees before making its final appointment decision.
