The AEMC today published a consultation paper on proposed transitional arrangements and associated proposed rules that would be needed to implement the draft rule for Transmission Connection and Planning Arrangements.

The paper sets out the Commission’s proposed approach to implementing the draft Rule, which was published in November 2016, including the interim steps that would need to be undertaken by industry and market institutions.

The aim of the paper is to facilitate stakeholder comment on the way in which the draft rule would be implemented, rather than the policy intent of the draft rule itself.

Stakeholders are invited to make written submissions on the paper and the proposed transitional arrangements by 10 February 2017. Submissions on the policy intent of the draft Rule should be made in submissions to the draft determination, which are due on 27 January 2017.
