The AEMC is in the process of considering a rule change request from the COAG Energy Council regarding transmission connection and planning arrangements. The rule change request seeks to improve transparency, contestability and clarity in the connections frameworks, and enhance the transmission planning and decision making frameworks.
The AEMC will be holding a series of workshops from March 2016 to work through aspects of the rule change with stakeholders. The first workshop will focus on those aspects of the rule change request that relate to the boundaries of contestability and definitions of those assets to be used for connection services.
