We are pleased to introduce four new AEMC Senior Advisers Dominic Adams, Shari Boyd, Ben Davis and Claire Richards.

Dominic Adams, Senior Adviser

Since arriving at the AEMC in late 2013 Dominic has worked in the retail and wholesale markets team, including working on the AEMC’s first retail rule change project and is currently leading the AEMC’s 2016 Retail Competition Review. With qualifications in law and arts (LL.B Hons I; BA, University of Newcastle) Dominic has previously worked as a researcher for a Judge at the Court of Appeal of the NSW Supreme Court and in the climate change and banking teams at the law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, where he pursued an interest in climate and renewable energy regulation and financing.

Shari Boyd, Senior Adviser

Shari made the move to policy development at the AEMC nine months ago and enjoys opportunities to work with stakeholders on developing  national electricity and gas markets in Australia. With qualifications in finance (B.Comm University of Alberta) and law (LL.B University of Alberta), Shari worked first in the financial industry and then as a lawyer at the Alberta Utilities Commission where she worked on facilities and rate setting applications.

Ben Davis, Senior Adviser

Since arriving at the AEMC in 2013, Ben has worked on our distribution networks pricing arrangements rule change, the embedded networks rule change and a variety of Power of Choice and network regulation projects.  With qualifications in economics (B Ec (hons)), Ben previously  worked at the University of Western Australia as an Associate Lecturer and at the Australian Energy Regulator in the networks operations and development branch.

Claire Richards, Senior Adviser

Claire started her career in a graduate program in Canberra for the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism working on energy efficiency, uranium and carbon capture and storage policy. After two years working on clean energy and climate change policy, she moved to Sydney in February 2014 to join the AEMC’s Networks team. She is currently working on the Competition in Metering rule change and the Integration of Storage project. Claire completed a Bachelor of Business Management/Bachelor of Arts at the University of Queensland.
