The AEMC is saddened to hear of the death of Chloe Munro AO, who will be remembered for her extraordinary service to the energy sector across a period of extreme change.

"Chloe’s diverse interests and contribution in fields outside of the energy sector, such as the arts and business, saw her bring a unique and valuable perspective to her roles. She was an innovator, a respected leader and a champion of change,” AEMC Chair Anna Collyer said.

Chloe’s work crossed AEMC’s activities in many ways, such as her membership of the Finkel review into the future security of the National Energy Market which has set the direction for our work through the energy transition.

“Many other roles also saw Chloe’s guiding presence in the rapidly changing Australian power system, including her important work chairing the Clean Energy Regulator from its commencement in 2012.

She was also well recognised for her support and mentorship of women in the energy industry and has been at the vanguard of increasing representation of female leaders throughout the sector.

“On behalf of the AEMC I offer our sincere condolences to Chloe’s family and former colleagues.”
