The AEMC is delighted that nine new graduates started in our 2021 program this week, allowing us to contribute to the energy sector’s future workforce.
This year, we have increased our intake to nine graduates in response to the high calibre of applicants.
AEMC Chief Executive Benn Barr said that the program provides a career pathway in policy advice at the AEMC.
“More widely, the program allows us to contribute to the future workforce of the energy sector by identifying and providing valuable experience to young people who are passionate about the sector,” Mr Barr said.
“We have focussed on graduates who have an interest in policy making and in the energy sector. We have a number of economics graduates and also those from other disciplines. I was very excited by the high quality of applications that we received.”
Mr Barr said that four of the nine graduates were women, in line with the AEMC’s focus on gender equity.
The program is designed to build the skills and knowledge of graduates.
Over the 12-month program, graduates are able to work across a wide range of projects.
