The Australian Energy Market Commission today invited stakeholder submissions on a rule change request from Snowy Hydro to change the standard for compliance with dispatch instructions.

Snowy Hydro’s proposed solution would mean a market participant such as a generator would be safe from being found in breach of the relevant rules where either:

  • it used reasonable endeavours to comply with a dispatch instruction; or
  • it was not found by the Australian Energy Market Operator to be non-conforming.

The consultation paper released today sets out the issues that will be considered by the AEMC and seeks stakeholder feedback on the issues raised.

Submissions are due by Thursday 15 October 2015.
