The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) today published the terms of reference received from the Standing Council on Energy and Resources (SCER) seeking advice on implications of differences between actual and forecast demand within the operation of the economic regulatory frameworks for network service providers under the National Electricity Rules.
SCER has sought the AEMC's advice by 31 March 2013.
Given the timeframe available, the AEMC will not be able to undertake its usual public consultation process in preparing its advice to SCER. Instead, in order allow stakeholders with an opportunity to provide input, the AEMC will hold a workshop on 28 February 2013 in Melbourne. This workshop will allow interested stakeholders to participate in exploring the issues relevant for the AEMC in providing its advice.
Further information about the workshop, including the registration details can be found here. Registrations for the workshop close on 21 February 2013.
