On 2 June 2011, the Commission published a notice in accordance with section 95 of the National Electricity Law (NEL) to initiate and assess a Rule change request submitted by the Tasmanian Government. This Rule change request proposes to expedite the making of amendments to certain AEMO procedures. This is to facilitate the implementation of expanding retail contestability for smaller business customers consuming between 50 -150 MWh per annum.
The AEMC intends to assess the Rule change request under the expedited Rule making process, as it considers the request to be non-controversial. Written objections against the expedition of the Rule making process must be received by the 16 of June 2011.
Submissions on the content of the Rule change request must be received by the 30 June 2011 and submitted via the AEMC's website.
