On 11 December 2014, the Australian Energy Market Commission published its final rule determination and final rule on the removal of force majeure provisions in the Victorian declared wholesale gas market (DWGM).
The Commission considers that the final rule is likely to contribute to the achievement of the national gas objective (NGO) by clarifying the rules for the Victorian DWGM and aligning them with the current market design.
The final rule will clarify how the market is to operate in times of market stress, facilitating more accurate decisions and appropriate risk management practices.
