Rule Change: Completed
Overview
The Commission considered the proposal to be non-controversial as it involved addressing an anomaly in clause 3.3.11 of the Rules that was unlikely to have a significant effect on the National Electricity Market (NEM).
Background
On 17 September 2008, the Commission received a proposal from NEMMCO to amend the Rules.
NEMMCO’s Rule change proposal sought to ensure that the call amount specified in a call notice issued by NEMMCO, under clause 3.3.11 of the Rules, can restore a Market Participant’s prudential margin in all cases.
On 16 October 2008, the Commission published a notice under sections 95 and 96 of the NEL commencing consultation on this Rule change proposal and advising of its intention to expedite the Rule change process on the ground that it was non-controversial, subject to written objections.
The Commission considered the proposal to be non-controversial as it involved addressing an anomaly in clause 3.3.11 of the Rules that was unlikely to have a significant effect on the National Electricity Market (NEM).
The Commission invited interested parties to provide submissions on the Rule change proposal by 14 November 2008. Any objections to the Commission applying the expedited Rule making process in this instance were to be received by 31 October 2008.
