The COAG Energy Council has directed the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) to review the design, function and roles of facilitated gas markets and gas transportation arrangements on the east coast of Australia. The Victorian Government, with the agreement of the COAG Energy Council, has also asked the AEMC to conduct a review of the Victorian Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM).
We are currently progressing stage 2 of both of these reviews, considering the long term development of the gas market.
We are holding a public forum in Sydney on the afternoon of 30 September 2015 on wholesale market design options and the pipeline access arrangements that would be needed to support those design options.
The forum is an opportunity for you to share your views prior to release of the AEMC’s gas review draft stage 2 reports in December 2015.
The forum will be held in Sydney.
Details on forum time, venue and agenda will be confirmed shortly.
If you wish to attend the public forum, please register online by Friday 25 September 2015.
Please note that the AEMC is holding two public forums on 30 September 2015. Prior to the AEMC’s forum on the east coast gas review and Victorian DWGM review, the AEMC is holding a separate forum at the same venue on Strategic Priorities for Energy Market Development. Please refer to its page for further information.
