The Australian Energy Market Commission today published a note for comment in relation to the Optional Firm Access, Design and Testing review, which was referred to the Commission by the COAG Energy Council in February 2014.

In the note, the Commission acknowledges stakeholders’ concerns about the review and seeks their views about the need for optional firm access.

This note does not affect our current work programme for the optional firm access review. The Commission will continue to develop, design and test the model as required under the current terms of reference.

Stakeholder comments are due by 30 January 2015 and will be factored into the Commission’s ongoing work.

The AEMC will submit a final report on the design and testing of OFA to the COAG Energy Council by mid-2015.
