The Waitsia Export Pipeline (WEP) is a transmission pipeline located south-east of Dongara, Western Australia. It comprises two sections, the main section of the WEP under Pipeline Licence 124 and the Waitsia to PL 124 Export Pipeline under Pipeline Licence 128. The WEP is also owned and operated by AWE Perth Pty Ltd and Beach Energy (Perth Basin) Pty Ltd.
The WEP under Pipeline Licence 124 is 3.67 km in length, 355.6 mm in diameter, and has a maximum capacity of 350 TJ/day.
The WEP under Pipeline Licence 128 is 1.33 km in length, 355.6 mm in diameter, and has a maximum capacity of 350 TJ/day.
The WEP transports hydrocarbons from the:
- Xyris Production Facility to the Waitsia Metering Station to the tie-in for the WEP on the Dampier Bunbury Pipeline for export
- Waitsia Gas Plant to the Xyris Gas Plant for export.
The WEP is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the National Gas Access (WA) Law and Part 23 of the National Gas Rules (WA) (NGR (WA)).
The WA Economic Regulation Authority granted Category 1 and 2 exemptions under Part 23 of the NGR (WA) for the Pipeline that apply from 17 June 2022 to 17 June 2027.
