WA: Varanus Gas Sales and Gas Plant (Terr Sea)

Varanus Gas Sales and Gas Plant (Terr Sea) (VGSGP) is a transmission pipeline located in the Northern Carnarvon Basin, Western Australia.

The VGSGP is owned by Santos WA Northwest Pty Ltd and Santos WA Southwest Pty Ltd, and operated by Santos WA Energy Ltd.

The VGSGP is 70 km in length and 406.4 mm in diameter.

The VGSGP transports natural gas from the shoreline at the mean low water mark of Varanus Island to an insulating flange at the shoreline at the mean low water mark of the mainland coastline west of Mardie, Western Australia.

The VGSGP is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the National Gas Access (WA) Law and Part 23 of the National Gas Rules (WA) (NGR (WA)).

The WA Economic Regulation Authority granted Category 1 and 2 exemptions under Part 23 of the NGR (WA) for the VGSGP that apply from 17 June 2022 to 17 June 2027.
