The Northern Greenfields Interconnect (NGI) is a new buried pipeline, approximately 580 kilometres long, commencing at Ambania, approximately 50 kilometres east of Geraldton, connecting into the existing Goldfields Gas Pipeline (GGP), approximately 40 kilometres south of Leinster. The external diameter of the pipeline is approximately 300 mm and the maximum operating pressure is 15.3 MPa.  On 2 August 2023, the ERA granted a 5 year Category 3 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR for the NGI.

The Northern Goldfields Interconnect was commissioned on 1 July 2023.
