The Gorgon DomGas Pipeline (GDP) is a transmission pipeline located between Barrow Island and the Western Australian mainland, approximately 90 km north-east of Onslow and 120 km south-east of Karratha. It comprises an onshore and offshore section.
The GDP is owned by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd, JERA Gorgon Pty Ltd, Mobil Australia Resources Company Pty Ltd, Osaka Gas Gorgon Pty Ltd, Shell Australia Pty Ltd and Tokyo Gas Gorgon Pty Ltd. They are also operated by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd.
The GDP onshore is 33.48 km in length, 508 mm in diameter, and has a maximum capacity of 300 TJ/day.
The GDP transports natural gas for domestic use between the Gorgon Gas Treatment Plant on Barrow Island and the domestic gas collection and distribution network on the
Western Australian mainland. The GDP onshore connects the mainland shore crossing low water mark through a 12 km intertidal zone, an 18 km onshore easement to a meter station, and then 1.5 km to where it links to the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
The GDP onshore is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the National Gas Access (WA) Law and Part 23 of the National Gas Rules (WA) (NGR (WA)).
The WA Economic Regulation Authority granted Category 1 and 2 exemptions under Part 23 of the NGR (WA) for the GDP onshore that apply from 17 June 2022 to 17 June 2027.
