The Burrup Fertilisers Lateral (BFL) is a transmission pipeline located in Burrup, Western Australia. It is owned and operated by Santos WA Northwest Pty Ltd and Harriet (Onyx) Pty Ltd.
The BFL was previously owned and operated by Apache Northwest Pty Ltd, Tap (Harriet) Pty Ltd and Kufpec Australia Pty Ltd.
The BFL is 1.4 km in length and 219.1 mm in diameter, and has a maximum capacity of 200 TJ/day.
The BFL delivers natural gas and commences at the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline and ends at a pressure regulating station adjacent to the Burrup Fertilisers’ lease boundary.
The BFL is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the National Gas Access (WA) Law and Part 23 of the National Gas Rules (WA) (NGR (WA)).
The WA Economic Regulation Authority granted Category 1 and 2 exemptions under Part 23 of the NGR (WA) for the BFL that apply from 17 June 2023 to 17 June 2027.
