The Atlas Gas Pipeline, previously known as the Atlas Gas Processing Facility Pipeline, is a 60.5 km transmission pipeline with a nameplate capacity of 48 TJ/day, that connects Senex’s Atlas gas fields to Jemena’s Darling Downs Pipeline. The pipeline is used exclusively for the transportation of Senex’s gas, which is natural gas. The pipeline was commissioned in September 2019 and is owned and operated by Jemena (Jemena Darling Downs Pipeline (3) Pty Ltd ABN 83 127 059 152).
The Atlas Gas Pipeline is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Part 10 of the National Gas Rules (NGR). It was previously subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under the former Part 23 of the NGR, which was replaced by Part 10.
The AER has granted the following exemptions for the Atlas Gas Pipeline:
* on 7 July 2020, a five year category 2 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR for the Atlas Gas Pipeline
* on 1 March 2024, a further five year category 2 exemption under Part 10 of the NGR.
