APA Group is progressing plans to build a 460 km pipeline - the Western Slopes Pipeline - to connect a new supply of natural gas from Santos’ proposed Narrabri Gas Project to the New South Wales gas transmission network, via the Moomba Sydney Pipeline.

The Western Slopes Pipeline will have the capacity to transport up to 200 TJ/day through a 16 or 18 inch pipeline.

The pipeline is ultimately subject to a Final Investment Decision by Santos, regulatory approval of the Narrabri Gas Project and execution of an agreed form gas transportation agreement.

According to estimates from Santos, the proposed Narrabri Gas Project has the potential to supply natural gas to more than 1.1 million homes and 30,000 business and industrial customers in NSW.
