The National Electricity Rules govern the operation of the National Electricity Market. The Rules have the force of law, and are made under the National Electricity Law.
Copies of the National Electricity Rules are available for inspection at the AEMC’s office in Sydney. The National Electricity Law can be found at the South Australian Legislation website.
Available below is a copy of the National Electricity Rules as in force in the Northern Territory (NT NER).
The NT NER is version 121 of the National Electricity rules as amended by:
• National Electricity (Northern Territory) (National Uniform Legislation) (Modification) Regulations 2016.
Version 121 of the National Electricity Rules incorporates:
• Schedule 3 of the National Electricity Amendment (Enhancement to the Reliability and Emergency Reserve Trader) Rule 2019 No. 3
• National Electricity Amendment (Application period for contingent project revenue) Rule 2019 No. 4.
Please note that the current consolidated version does not include amendments made to the Rules by the National Electricity (Northern Territory) (National Uniform Legislation) (Modification) Regulations 2016 (as amended on 1 July 2019 by the National Electricity (Northern Territory) (National Uniform Legislation) (Modification) Amendment Regulations 2019). An updated version of the National Electricity Rules as in force in the Northern Territory will be published as soon as possible.
