The Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap Service Line is a transmission line located 30km outside of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. The pipeline links Pine Gap to the existing Darwin to Alice Springs Pipeline. 

The Pine Gap Service Line is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Part 10 the NGR. 

The AER has granted the following exemption applications for the Pine Gap Service Line:

• On 29 October 2018, a five year Category 1 and Category 2 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR.   The exemption expired on 28 October 2023.
• On 12 July 2024, a five year Category 2 exemption under Part 10 of the NGR.
