The AEMC invites stakeholders to provide input into proposed new arrangements for embedded networks. A workshop will be held from 10am-1pm on 8 May 2019 at Primus Hotel in Sydney (registration from 9:30am).
The AEMC is keen to gather industry, consumer and jurisdictional views on the:
- types of existing embedded networks that should be required to transition to the new framework
- application of the framework, and
- process for transition.
The proposed updated framework set out in the draft report, published on 31 January 2019, extends the coverage of national energy laws and rules to include most new embedded networks. These amendments will extend important consumer protections, and access to retail market competition, to customers in embedded networks.
Interested stakeholders can choose to:
- attend the workshop in person (registrations now closed)
- access the webcast online (follow this link to register for the webcast)
Agenda and advance copies of presentations will be provided before the workshop.
