National Electricity Rules Version 82

The National Electricity Rules govern the operation of the National Electricity Market. The Rules have the force of law, and are made under the National Electricity Law.

Copies of the National Electricity Rules are available for inspection at the AEMC's office in Sydney. The National Electricity Law can be found at the South Australian Legislation website.

The current consolidated version of the Rules is Version 82, incorporating:

  • Schedules 1 and 5 of the National Electricity Amendment (Updating the electricity B2B framework) Rule 2016 No. 6 (commenced 30 June 2016)
  • National Electricity Amendment (Bidding in Good Faith) Rule 2015 No. 13
  • National Electricity Amendment (Generator ramp rates and dispatch inflexibility in bidding) Rule 2015 No. 2
  • Schedule 2 of the National Electricity Amendment (Minor Changes) Rule 2012 No. 3.
